Luis Suarez and his Uruguay teammates anxiously await International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) governing body's decision if Suarez were to be expelled from the 2014 World Cup on an apparent biting against Italian player Giorgio Chiellini.

The apparent bite took place late in the second half when Suarez clashed with Chiellini. The game officials apparently did not notice the incident which prompted Chiellini to rush towards referee, Marco Rodriguez of Mexico.
Chiellini pulled down the left shoulder part of his jersey to show Rodriguez the apparent bite marks but ignored it. Other Italian players yelled at the Rodriguez but he did not respond.
A few moments later after the incident, Diego Godin, Uruguay's captain, gave them the only goal that eliminated the Italians from the knockout round of the World Cup.
Alejandro Balbi, Suarez's lawyer along with Uruguay FA Chief Wilmar Valdez flew over to Rio de Janeiro to go over their player's defense. However, replays of the apparent biting have been seen by the disciplinary committee and Suarez's playing days in the World Cup is almost grim.
"We don't have any doubts that this has happened because it's Suarez and secondly because Italy was eliminated," said Balbi. "There's a lot of pressure from England and Italy."
When asked if the contact between Suarez and Chiellini was intentional, Balbi replied: "No. Suarez's mouth hit against the Italian player's shoulder."
"If FIFA acts the way that it should, being objective, according to the proof that there is, he really should not be sanctioned ... Luis is a football player that is important to the whole world, not just Uruguay," Valdez added.
Uruguay is set to play Colombia on Saturday and FIFA is working quickly on investigating the incident.
"The Disciplinary Committee understands the urgency of the matter," FIFA spokeswoman Delia Fischer told reporters.
On an interview Tuesday, Suarez has denied biting.
"Those are situations that happen on the pitch. We were both just there inside the area. He shoved me with his shoulder, and my eye got left like that also," Suarez defended.
