When rumors started circulating about Kim Kardashian being a gold digger, Kanye West was quick to defend his wife. Although she leads a life of luxury, Kanye says that she definitely did not marry him for his money.

Both Kanye and Kim are worth a lot of millions but in his speech at The BET Honors on Saturday, January 24, he wanted to make it clear that their marriage is based on love and not on money. Here is what he said, "At the barbershop... I used to hear people always talking about, 'Man, you know when an entertainer get on, of course you know he gon' go and get a white girl and blah blah blah and a white girl gon' get a rich black dude."

Then he shared a line from his track, "Gold Digger", "But I wanna say that my wife has dated broke black dudes. It got nothing to do with the money."

Although Kanye talked about wonderful things about his wife, his speech was also about interracial relationships and racism.

Kanye continued his speech and shared an incident that happened when Kim's father, Robert Kardashian was defending O.J. Simpson. On one occasion, Robert found the words "n***a lover" on his car. Kanye said that when Kim asked her dad why it was so upsetting, her dad responded with, "One day, you may have a black child...a beautiful, beautiful, beautiful black child... and it's gonna be hard. You're gonna see how hard it is."

Kim's dad was right, and he sure would be so proud of Kim and Kanye's active part in combating racism.
