It is no surprise that the entertainment industry loves their names unique; but Keira Knightley, one of Hollywood's most famous leading ladies reveals that her unique name was a mistake.
Keira sat down with Elle UK for an interview and explained that her name was actually a spelling error made by her mother.

The 29-year old star explained, "I was meant to be named 'Kiera,' after a Russian ice skater who was on the TV one day. My dad fancied her and nicked her name for me. But it was my mum who went to register my birth, and she accidentally spelled 'ei' instead of 'ie' because my mum's crap at spelling."
"Apparently, when she came back [my dad] said, 'What the f*ck? You've spelt her name wrong!' What were they going to do, though? Once it's on the piece of paper, it's on the piece of paper. And that's me. A spelling error."
Keira is expecting her first child with the Klaxons' James Righton but hopefully, the Oscar-nominated star of The Imitation Game would not make the same mistake when she registers their child's birth.
Keira can be seen on the big screen in the film The Imitation Game, which starts showing today, while her interview in the March issue of Elle UK hits stands Thursday.
