Hong Kong Chief Executive Leung Chun-ying's second daughter roused the Facebook community and the media yet again with photos of her slashed wrist and bloody hand early yesterday.
In her Facebook post, 22-year old Chai-yan wrote "Will I bleed to death?" on top of a photo showing her wrist with two cuts and later posted "I love blood" with a photo of her swollen hand smeared with blood.

Reports say these were posted online while her father was on the way to Britain to attend her younger sister's graduation at Cambridge University.
On the other hand, worries about Chai-yan sustaining severe injury were dismissed after local media sites such as Bastille Post and Speak Out Hong Kong uploaded images showing her sitting on a park bench with her parents in London yesterday at around 2AM, Hong Kong time.
Meanwhile, daughter of former Security Minister Regina Ip Lau Suk-yee Cynthia Ip, said the incident reminded her of herself when her mother faced harsh criticisms and that Chai-yan should seek a therapist's help if she has a problem.
Cynthia Ip also expressed her sentiment about feeling the need to defend your family and advised Chai-yan to put some distance between her and the political attacks.
In a separate interview, Cynthia's mother said that seeking help and support from her family, especially her siblings would be very helpful for Chai-yan in coping with her problems.
In a study made by the American Psychiatric Association, researchers suggests that non-suicidal self-injury could mean that the person may be experiencing negative feelings or seeks relief through injuring one's self.
