Apart from the upcoming Super Bowl, the Seattle Seahawks have one more challenge they have to face: the salary cap challenge that is quarterback Russell Wilson's contract.

The Seahawks are preparing to change Wilson's contract. In 2014, his rookie deal net him $667,589. However, that deal expires the next season and the team is eager to lock Wilson down as he shows potential to be the core of a championship dynasty.

John Schneider, general manager of the Seahawks, acknowledged that the decision was one of the toughest that the team will have to face.

However, he added that if you have a good coaching staff that was willing to draft and pay young players, compensation for the quarterback would not be a problem.

Since the Seahawks beat the Denver Broncos last Super Bowl, they have cut or traded so many key players. These players include defensive linemen Chris Clemons and Red Bryant, tight end Zach Miller, and starting nose tackle Brandon Mebane, as well as many others.

Despite that, the Seahawks look to be back-to-back Super Bowl champions since their opponents did so a decade ago.

As startling as it sounds, the Seahawks will go in to the Super Bowl game with 14 out of 22 of their players aged below 26. Just one player - defensive tackle Kevin Williams - is over 30.

Apart from all the talk of money and longevity though, one player for the Seahawks stands out.

Defensive lineman Michael Bennet was offered more money to leave the team, but he opted to stay and take less pay.

His logic is that if he wins, he will get more money. He also says that becoming a champion makes people love you more, will net you more TV time, and you get to hang out with more people.

Schneider hopes that more players can be like Bennet moving forward.
