There have been a number of Asian artists who have tried to break into the American market but unfortunately failed. Namie, aware of the risk, said that instead of focusing on the success, she will treat this opportunity as a challenge.
The source shared, "Namie is well aware of Utada's experiences [in the US]. She has begun intense English-language lessons. Concerning her music, she is fully satisfied with the type of music she releases being on par with the status quo. She's not in a 'I want to break America and be successful at all costs' mindset, but rather 'I want to step up my game'."
Namie has yet to comment on whether their was indeed an offer and if she had accepted it.
Her career is definitely going through a lot of changes. The 37-year old just recently concluded her contract with Rising Production and transferred all of her musical business to Dimension Point, which is a subsidiary of Avex, that she started herself.
