Shia LaBeouf has been arrested in the middle of a Broadway show on Thursday night because of disruptive behavior, the New York Police Department said.
The 28-year-old former "Transformers" star was smoking inside the theater while the "Cabaret" show was on-going. He was then asked to leave the venue during the intermission but he refused and even threatened the police and other people on the sidewalk, ABC News detailed.

The cops decided to handcuff LaBeouf and escort him out of Studio 54. He was later on charged with one count of criminal trespassing and two counts of disorderly conduct, Variety said.
The June 25 musical performance in New York starred Michelle Williams and Alan Cumming.
Tony Award nominee Benj Pasek said on Twitter that he saw LaBeouf crying outside the venue while he was talking with the police officers who escorted him out. Cast member Danny Burstein and other audience members also took to Facebook and other social media sites their own accounts LaBeouf's grand exit from the venue while wearing handcuffs, Broadway World relayed.
The Hollywood actor has been exhibiting problematic behavior recently. In January, he was involved in a bar fight in London and was caught on video headbutting a man.
He was also accused of plagiarizing Daniel Clowes' novel and using the content for his short film "HowardCantour.com." LaBeouf later on apologized for this.
LaBeouf, who was also a star in Lars von Trier's "Nymphomaniac," caught the public's attention with his strange "performance art" in Berlin. The actor wore a paper bag over his head with the label "I'm Not Famous Anymore."
Gossip site Just Jared said the fourth installment of "Transformers" happened to be released into theaters on the same evening that LaBeouf was arrested. This is the first series of the said movie that he is not included in the cast.
