"Xenoblade Chronicle X" is an upcoming  game for the Nintendo Wii U.  You basically play the role of a new recruit of BLADE, a mercenary unit exploring a planet called Mira.

A spaceship from Earth crashes on Mira and it's your duty as a BLADE recruit to search for and rescue the survivors. The humans are safely encased in escape pods and they've been cryogenically frozen.

To help you in your exploration and search, you'll have access to the "Frontier Net". You'll need the gamepad of your Wii to use this information system that collects every bit of data you'll encounter on this alien planet.

Depending on the faction or "unions" you choose, the tasks handed to you are varied.  As you go deeper into the game, you'll have the ability to switch to any faction you like.

The first faction is called Path Finder. They are tasked with feeding information to the Frontier Net through the use of data probes.

The second Faction is the Interceptors.  Their job is to eliminate the protists, guard the surveyors and rescue the people of New Los Angeles.

The third faction is the Avalanche.  Their sole role is to attack and destroy any creatures that pose a threat.

Testament is the fourth faction. They search and recover any materials from the crashed White Whale spaceship. They also make sure any useful item left in a battle is recovered.

The Colepedian faction performs the same function as the Path Finders but they search in areas the other factions haven't yet gone through.

Another faction is the Land Bank. They take care of employment and trade in Mira. The Land Bank union is always in search of vital materials.

The Arms faction is in charge of creating weapons for the BLADE organization.

The last Faction is called the Companion. They keep the peace among the people. They resolve issues from the most minor to the more serious.
