The Los Angeles County Sheriff said Medina and the victim, identified as Joshua Sutter, were arguing before the stabbing happened. Medina was reportedly with his girlfriend and had gone to his room after the argument.
Sutter, 36, allegedly forced open the bedroom door of Medina, who then took a sword and stabbed Sutter in the abdomen once.
Medina, himself, called 911 and waited for the authorities, who handcuffed and put him in jail with a $1 million bail bond.
Medina played the "Red Lion Wild Force Ranger" in the TV Series "Power Rangers Wild Force" in 2002. He also voiced the character of Derek in the "Power Rangers Samurai" that ran from 2012 to 2013.
An investigation is ongoing as to what prompted Medina to attack Sutter. Gar Lester, Medina's agent, has released a statement saying that the actor has been his client for 12 years and the incident came as a surprise to him.
