California drought rages on, with San Francisco suffering its driest January in recorded history.
San Francisco started 2015 without a single drop of rain, according to the National Weather Service.
Meteorology consultant Jan Null said other Bay Area cities, including San Jose, saw at most heavy fog with just a drizzle. This fanned fears that the four-year drought may not end anytime soon.

"It certainly has been a memorable January," Null said.
Memorable because it wasn't a usual January. San Francisco receives nearly four inches of rain during what is normally its wettest month. So a rain-less January would be alarming.
In January 2014, San Francisco recorded just six hundredths of an inch of rain.
Temperatures were hitting 70 degrees in San Francisco and a hotter 73 at the beach in Half Moon Bay just right before noon.
Business was good as people gathered in the market to buy flowers and fresh produce.
But this did not stop farmers from worrying about the coming days.
Some growers have pulled out due to the drought.
"We're really concerned," said apple grower Stan Devoto, owner of Devoto Gardens in Sebastopol.
Most of Devoto's orchards are dry farmed, which means trees rely on rain rather than irrigation. Clearly, without rain, the trees could die.
Last year, Devoto had resorted to a drip system just to keep his trees alive.
Aside from the drought, apple growers are also worried about the warm weather. Apple trees grow in cold climates. It would need 600 to 1,000 hours of below 45-degree weather, which had not happened this year.
"It's definitely going to affect the size of the fruit," Devoto said.
Despite the rainless January, the National Weather Service said the Bay Area is still above normal in rainfall with the help of the more than 15 inches of rain that fell in December.
But weather officials say it has to begin raining again to prevent another winter dry spell.
