Travel and online booking business TripAdvisor LLC announced today it has acquired tech startup ZeTrip, Inc. and its personal travel journal app, Rove.
Rove, an app developed in 2013, provides a travelog of users' movements based on their GPS and other data.
Reports say ZeTrip employees have already moved from their previous location in San Mateo, California to TripAdvisor's office in Palo Alto and are now incorporated into its mobile group.

"We are pleased to welcome the innovative ZeTrip team to the TripAdvisor family," said Adam Medros, TripAdvisor's senior vice president of Global Products.
"The team will be a valuable addition to our mobile group and we look forward to integrating the company's technology to further enhance the experience for TripAdvisor mobile app users."
"TripAdvisor and the ZeTrip team share the same passion for helping travelers plan and remember their trips," said Edouard Tabet, founder and chief executive officer of Zetrip.
"We're excited to collaborate on new innovative products for travelers around the world." Tabet added.
TripAdvisor currently operates 24 brands including La Fourchette, JetSetter, and Gate Guru, among others. ZeTrip originally developed a social travel app that lets users share their travel destinations with friends.
