"It was obviously a scary fall," said 27-year-old Djokovic. "Luckily for me it only had a minor effect on the joint and the muscles around it and caused no significant damage. It's looking good."
After the match, Djokovic underwent an ultrasound to check his shoulders for possible joint problems.
"That split-second was not pleasant, definitely, the feeling that I had. (But) that's why you have the medical team that reassures you and checks if everything is fine with your joint. Luckily for me it's all positive news."
Djokovic, who was runner-up to Andy Murray in last year's championships, has the weekend to recover before playing another Frenchman Jo-Wilfred Tsonga, who defeated Jimmy Wang of Chinese Taipei 6-2 6-2 7-5, in the round of 16.
"Tsonga's a great grass-court player, he loves the energy of the big stadium and it is going to be a big challenge for both of us," said Djokovic.
Defending Wimbledon champion British Andy Murray also played Friday on Center Court against Spaniard Roberto Bautista Agut.
It only took 95 minutes for the 27-year-old Murray to dismiss Agut in three straight sets 6-2 6-3 6-2.
Murray will play South African Kevin Anderson who defeated Italian Fabio Fognini in a five set match 4-6 6-4 2-6 6-2 6-1 in the fourth round scheduled Monday.
"Kevin's going to be a tough opponent," Murray said. "Like Roberto, he is playing the best tennis of his career at the moment, he's made some improvements in the past year. He's a big guy with a big game and I'm going to have to return well if I'm going to win that one."
