Lindsay Lohan, together with her mother Dina Lohan are suing Fox News, host Sean Hannity and commentator Michelle Fields for defamation concerning a conversation between the two saying that the mother and daughter are doing cocaine together. However, new reports say that the cable network has no plans of settling with the Lohans.

A spokesperson for Fox News told TheWrap that, "We will defend this case to the fullest. The remark about which Lindsay and Dina Lohan complain was made on live television by a guest nearly a year ago. We removed the segment from our archives altogether last February and also apologized on-air. At that time, the Lohans did not make any demands for money, and we are surprised they are doing so now."
The Lohans' complaint is based on a 2014 segment on "Hannity," where the host and the commentator were simply discussing drug use in Hollywood. However, when Lindsay Lohan's name was brought into the discussion, Michelle blurted, "Lindsay Lohan's mom is doing cocaine with her."
In the lawsuit filed against them by the Lohans, Michelle is listed as a defendant and accuses her comment as "a direct smear on the character/reputation of Lindsay and Dina," as well as, "false, defamatory, heartless and derogatory."
Immediately after the comment was made, Fox News issued an apology, with Andrea Tantaros, which was a "Hannity" guest host at the time, saying, "a guest made a comment about Lindsay Lohan and her mother that we cannot verify. We apologize for this oversight."
Lindsay Lohan has been trying to get her career back on track and this is the primary reason why the Lohans are intent of setting the record straight. Lindsay and Dina's lawyer, Mark Heller told Reuters, "People should be able to feel that if they hear something on TV or read something in the media, it should be truthful. Lindsay Lohan is on the way toward restoring her career and getting back on track, and something like this can be very fragile and hurtful to her."
