Facebook recently revealed that it has been fighting against a court order since last summer compelling the social networking giant to disclose information of hundreds of its users.
"This unprecedented request is by far the largest we've ever received -- by a magnitude of more than ten -- and we have argued that it was unconstitutional from the start," stated Chris Sonderby, Facebook's deputy general counsel, in a statement this Thursday.

Facebook's shocking revelation that it posted on its Facebook Security page made people concerned about their privacy. Users of Facebook have plenty of sensitive private information in accounts.
According to Facebook, about 381 people who have their accounts on their website were subject to warrants issued by a New York court. Of those, only 62 of were charged with fraud-realted cases that concerned disability. The company also added that it has been under a gag order, thereby preventing them from disclosing anything to the public, until recently.
Facebook asserted that the search was overboard and allowed the government to seize personal photographs of the people, along with other sensitive information including their private messages. The company has requested the government to return the data, and asserted that they are violating the Fourth Amendment.
It is worth noticing that Facebook is not the first one to face such pressure from government on the disclosure of personal information of the people on a website. Previously, Apple and Google have also faced such issues.
