Olympic gold medalist and TV celebrity Bruce Jenner has allegedly already told family members, especially the Kardashians, of his plans to become a woman. The family supported his decision and vowed to stay behind him, People can reveal.

Jenner, 65, is slated to top bill in an upcoming TV reality that would follow him on his transition to womanhood.

He already talked about his plans to his former wife Kris Jenner, as well as his children and sons and daughters from a previous marriage.

"Bruce told them everything - where things stood, what his plans were for the future, and what everyone could expect," a source close to the family told People.

"Everyone basically knew what was up, but it was still a shock to hear it outlined so explicitly."

The source also revealed that the family immediately rallied behind Jenner's decision because "all they want is for him to be happy."

News websites were quick to report that he would star on his own reality TV show on E! television network, although neither ABC nor E! has yet made any statements confirming the rumors.  Nevertheless, his step daughter, Kim Kardashian dropped hints about possible TV program, telling on Entertainment Tonight that he was "going through" something.

"I feel like that's his journey to talk about," she said.

Members of the Kardashian family and Jenner's daughters have been staples on television, gaining popularity following their hit reality TV series on E! Keeping Up with the Kardashians.
