Tweets Will Now Show-up In Google Search Results

Twitter has entered into a new search deal with Google following the removal of tweets from the search engine in 2011.

CEO Dick Costolo has managed to find a new arrangement where Google will pull data directly from Twitter instead of Google's search engine crawling the site for new information.

Twitter has been looking for ways to get more non-Twitter users checking out the site, and having these search results could bring in large audiences from all around the world.

Yahoo Search and Microsoft's Bing are already on board with Twitter's results, but the microblogging site has been trying to crack the big one for a while now.

Google still holds more than 75 percent of global searches, losing out in China to Baidu and Russia to Yandex. In almost all of Europe, it holds more than 80 percent share. In the U.S. Google's share is close to 75 percent.

This partnership could lead to other Google search integration, including adding tweets at the top of a celebrity search result. This could come up in the future if Costolo is ready to lose some Twitter site traffic for more recognition.

Twitter has around 284 million users, but growth is slowing as other social networks like Instagram, Tumblr and Pinterest start to become the people's choice. Twitter has launched Vine and its own video service to try and counteract these newer social services.

On top of the agreement with Google search, Twitter will also be showing adverts on Yahoo! Japan, another big announcement showing the early strength of Twitter's new ad platform.
