Bobby Brown Marks 46th Birthday at Family Dinner Following News of Wife's Pregnancy

There's still a little glimmer of hope for Bobby Brown, despite the tragedy that has befallen him now that his daughter Bobbi Kristina Brown is battling for her life as she remains unconscious in the hospital.

Brown, who already fathered five children, is now going to father one more as his wife, Alicia Etheridge, is pregnant again. The good news however has been overshadowed by the unfortunate and heart breaking event after 21-year-old daughter Bobbi Kristina Brown is still hanging on for her life at an Atlanta hospital.

Members of the Houston and Brown families have been staying round about her, paying her vigil day in and day out.

Nevertheless, E! News reported that about 20 people from Brown's family, including his children, held a simple celebration of his 46th birthday at a restaurant not far from the hospital where Bobbi is, where security was tight.

A police officer escorted Brown from the resto's entrance to the private dining space inside the restaurant. A table for 20 people was prepared.  A curtain was drawn to shield him and his company from other diners.

Sources told E! News that Brown, who is still inconsolable for his daughter's fate, looked rather dejected and weary when he arrived at the resto, although got a little happy when everyone in his family was around him.

A pregnant Etheridge was there, together with his 5-year-old son Cassius. While the party tried to keep everything look and feel OK, still, shadows of gloom and sadness over Bobbi's condition could never be hidden.

A guest was seen giving him a birthday present, while two birthday cakes were served at around 9:30 p.m. Of course, the group sand him a "Happy Birthday" song.

Born on February 9, 1965, Brown began his career as the lead vocal of the R&B/pop group New Edition, which was known as The Bricks when it launched in 1982. Behaviors eventually forced him out of the group in 1986. He launched his solo career then and achieved success in 1988 for his second album Don't Be Cruel. He continued his success with such top ten hits, winning the Grammy Award in 1993.
