Cesar Millan, more popularly known as the 'Dog Whisperer' is in the middle of a heated controversy after being sued by Alison Bitney, a former client who claimed that she was attacked prematurely by a pit bull, which was released from his training facility last September 2014, Time News reports.

Bitney, a critical care nurse hailing from Florida, stated that the dog inflicted "disfiguring open wounds, deep muscle and tendon lacerations" just six days after the pit bull was released from Millan's Dog Psychology Center.
Bitney lost all sensation and function in her left hand after the pitbull attack, which occurred in her home in Santa Clarita, according to Bitney's legal representatives. Bitney claims punitive damages.
In an official statement released by Jen Woodard, the director of Millan's Dog Psychology Center, Millan had never had contact with the animal.
Woodard also stressed out that the owner forcibly discharged the pit bull "against the strong advice and objection of his trainer."
Since the attack, the pit bull was placed back into the center and put under special quarantine.
Millan and his team will face charges of negligence for releasing a pit bull with a history of attacking people and animals.
The pitbull named Gus, was seized and impounded last 2013 and was deemed a potential hazard to public and thus ordered to be put down.
"Thereafter, Cesar Millan and his Dog Psychology Center, agreed to take custody and control of the pit bull and not to release it until it was fully deemed a safe member of the society," the formal complaint cited.
But Millan's attorneys have also contested that the director and head trainer at the Dog Psychology Center recognized that the dog was not ready to be freed into a normal environment and needed another 18 months of rehabilitation.
