Despite the criticism, the TV show garnered positive ratings online and is the most frequently viewed series on the online streaming site, iQiyi.
The 60 episode television series has more than 1.4 billion views since it first aired last October. It also topped the ratings on several satellite TV channels at the peak of its broadcast.
Xun shares that this is her first television series project in more than a decade. She recently revealed in an interview that she accept this project due to her grandmother's request.
"My grandmother is getting in on age. She doesn't surf the internet or go to cinema. She usually watches TV. One day, she told me she hasn't seen little Xiao Xun on TV for a long time. I realized that it has been a while since I starred in a TV series," says Xun.
Only a few people would debate that Xun looks very much younger than her age.
She recently starred in a rom com film titled Meet Miss Anxiety. In this film, Xun is quite convincing portraying a twenty something woman.
The actress also shared her best kept secrets for ageless beauty.
"It is important to be disciplined in your lifestyle routine. Getting your beauty sleep is a must. I make sure I remove my make-up thoroughly, moisturize my skin and also make it a point to put on face masks," Xun said.
