Apple has released the new iOS 7.1.2 update for its iPhone, iPad and iPod touch on Monday and is now availabe for download. It includes the improved iBeacon connectivity and stability, fixes a bug with data transfer and offers a tightened security update.
This is available on over-the-air (OTA) download in Settings > General > Software Update, or it can be downloaded and installed through iTunes. The users will be asked for their passcode upon selecting Download and Install. Depending on your Internet connection, it should only take a couple of minutes to complete the download.

According to a statement released by Apple, they did a 23.1MB patch to improve the iBeacon connectivity which would allow users to transfer data to third-party accessories like bar-code scanners and a tight data-protection for Mail Attachments.
Apple also made some small changes on the lock screen limiting the number of wrong passcodes entered. It also reduced the number of contacts to be obtained from Siri.
The iOS 7.1 update was released back in March and helped users clean up the interface with a more flat design language and an improved Touch ID and Car Play integration.
Apple users can expect two more updates on iOS 7 before the release of Apple’s iOS 8. It offers better iCloud multi-platform sharing and adds the new Health Kit and Home Kit apps.
