Gay couples who want to finally seal their love by marriage will now be able to do so in Alabama following a Supreme Court ruling.
The Supreme Court denied the petition by Alabama's Attorney General Luther Strange, who urged the justices to block gay marriages in the state.
The Supreme Court, however, decided to deny the petition of Strange, paving the way for gay marriages to commence in Alabama.

Gay couples were forced to hold their marriage plans when a federal district judge last month held the order to struck down Alabama's laws prohibiting same sex marriage until Monday.
Judge Alan King of Jefferson County Probate Court in Birmingham issued the first license to two women, making Alabama the 37th state where gays can legally wed. He then proceeded to issue several more.
Alabama's Chief Justice Roy Moore made a last-minuted push to stop the Supreme Court by ordering the state's probate judges not to issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples.
Moore said judge's decision striking down the state's ban on same-sex marriage was not binding on state courts, and that it had caused "confusion" in the state.
"A marriage contracted between individuals of the same sex is invalid in this state," he wrote.
In 2003, Moore was removed from the court by a state ethics panel after he refused to remove a monument to the Ten Commandments in the court building. Moore was re-elected in 2012.
But King said Moore's ruling had no merit, and "I have a duty to follow the United States Constitution."
Once of the first licenses, Dee and Laura Bush, told the Associated Press that it was great that they were able to be part of history.
The couple walked outside to a park where a minister was performing wedding ceremonies right after the Supreme Court issued its ruling.
Alabama became the 37th state to recognize gay marriage.
