Google Acquires Photo Backup Platform Odysee

Search engine giant Google has acquired photo backup app Odysee and the developers behind it in an effort to improve the Google+ photo experience.
Odysee, an app developed by Nimbuz, Inc., automatically backs-up images from a smartphone to a desktop. The app also lets users easily share contents privately with their friends and family.

"Odysee's vision was to be the easiest way for everyone to capture unlimited memories and access them everywhere," the company said on its official website.
"We are excited to share that the Odysee platform team will be joining the Google+ team,"
"Our deepest thanks to every one of our users. To help you with the transition, the Odysee service will continue till Feb 23rd, and soon after that all your photos and videos will be available as a downloadable archive," the company continued.
"We are very excited to join Google where we'll continue to focus on building amazing products that people love."
The Odysee app is no longer available in the Google Play and iOS app stores. The company also announced the acquisition through notifications to its app users.
