Statistics show that the teams are equally matched but Peng and Hsieh won because of break points, breaking 4 out of 5.
Peng and Hsieh will now head off to the third round and face the duo of Bulgarian Tsvetana Pironkova and Swiss Belinda Bencic, who are currently seeded No. 14.
Peng and Hsieh have won two Grand Slam titles together and are also the defending French Open champions recently held at the Roland Garros in Paris. They won against the Italian team of Sara Errani and Roberta Vinci in two straight sets.
Second seeds Errani and Vinci also advanced to the third round by eliminating sisters Ukrainian's Lyudmyla Kichenok and Nadalia Kichenok.
Another Chinese national is still alive in the women's doubles, Jie Cheng whose partner is Czech Andrea Hlavackova have also reached the third round after defeating the team of Russian Vera Dushevina and Chanelle Scheepers of South Africa.
Cheng and Hlavackova will now face the duo of German's Kristina Barrois and Swede Stefanie Voegele who Tuesday advanced to the third round out of a default from the American sisters Serena and Venus Williams.
Five-time Wimbledon singles champion Serena retired due to a viral illness. Umpire Kader Nouoni called a halt to the game when Serena served four simultaneous double-faults which they later then conceded the match.
Peng and Hsieh also participated in the ladies' singles tournament. Peng was recently defeated by Czech Petra Kvitova in the fourth round while Hsieh was eliminated early in the first round.
