Thousands of Canadians attended Canada Day in Ottawa on Tuesday, despite tornado warnings in the region.
According to The Globe and Mail, Canadians, covered in red and white clothes, were not deterred to watched Serena Ryder and Marianas perform. Among those who performed include the Snowbirds aerobatic team, which left trails of red vapor in honor of Canada Day. Chris Hadfield, a retired astronaut, was in one of the planes.

In an interview, Hadfield told the Globe and Mail that he felt most Canadian when he did a spacewalk while stationed in the International Space Station in 2001.
He helped a team of astronauts assembled a Canadarm robotic device while astronauts in the background played the Canadian national anthem for him. He was also part of the spacewalk outside the International Space station.
"There I was, floating weightless in space, crossing the east coast of Canada, listening to 'O Canada' be sung for the whole world to hear," Hadfield said.
Revellers covered in red and white waved Canadian flags while descending upon Parliament Hill to join the patriotic party. Stephen Harper, Canadian Prime Minister, also attended the ceremony and delivered a speech.
According to CBC, the event included the participation of Clara Hughes, Canada's beloved Olympic cycling and speedskating and the Canadian Armed Forces who showcased photos from their missions in Afghanistan, First World War and Second World War.
There were also huge fireworks displays in Halifax, Charlottetown, and Ottawa to close the Canada Day celebration. The fireworks remind the Canadian to enjoy their home and native land.
There was a slight downpour, but it did not stop the revellers to enjoy watching the fireworks over the Ottawa River near Parliament Hill.
Charlottetown surpassed Ottawa's fireworks display. Charlottetown had an impressive 12-minute firework show, with an estimated 10,000 fireworks flaring up in the night sky.
