Kanye West Says He’s Boycotting the Grammys Unless Organizers Fix the Voting System With Him

(Photo : REUTERS) Kanye defends himself and his wife from getting booed by photogs for being late for Paris Fashion Week.
After Kanye West's eyebrow-raising stunt at the Grammys and comments about how Beck should "respect artistry" went viral, he sat down with Ryan Seacrest's radio show to clarify his actions and thoughts.
While the rapper was able to do some damage control, he was not able to refrain himself from exploding in anger at the organizers of the Grammy awards. In fact, he said that he will not be returning to one of music's biggest events unless they work with him to fix the voting system.

The rapper was criticized harshly for attempting to repeat his infamous interruption of Taylor Swift's acceptance speech during the VMAs in 2009, but this time with Beck. During the interview, he tried to get back into the good graces of the people by saying that he totally respects Beck.
"When I said that thing about respect artistry, I think it came off the wrong way, and that was a mis-wording on my part because obviously Beck is one the most respected artists and respects artistry... but I felt that even though the Grammys sometimes gives awards to people who you wouldn't think should win in the category, as a respect to artists, we mention the other artist's name in our speech," he said.
He then took this moment to attack the organizers of the event, mentioning Recording Academy President, Neil Portnow and Recording Academy Chair, Jimmy Jam. The husband of Kim Kardashian said that he wouldn't be attending the Grammys unless the mentioned organizers work with him.
"I will not go to the Grammys [again] until I sit with Neil [Portnow], sit with Jimmy Jam, and fix the voting system so that it is more in line with the popular vote as those who are popular are the ones selling their advertising," Kanye ranted and proceeded to make a bizarre comparison between the Grammys treatment of popular artists like himself and Beyoncé to Kim's divorce.
"The Grammys are the dream, the dream, you know when my wife got divorced... and sorry Kim to discuss this but it's the best example of what I have right now, she got a lot of backlash from the fans over it because somehow their dream was broken because she is a dream girl and they live vicariously through her."
"It feel like [the Grammys] divorce from us every year, every year. There has to be some level of respect for the people that have there that sell advertising for them."
Kanye didn't stop his ranting there and continued to explain how the Grammys were promoting classicism because it would not allow those who are blessed to give back to the masses.
"Life isn't fair because there is only a small group that are talented enough or pretty enough... [so Grammys] is about us given back to the masses. This is about music, we have to start right here start at the Grammys, at any award show, we need to show we are the world we are the inspiration, we are the people, that give people inspiration as they drive to work."
In the one-sided interview, Kanye also took the time to discuss the details about his Yeezy 3 shoes he made with Adidas which will be released on Saturday.
The shoes will be sold at US$350 and while they only plan to sell 9000 pairs in the first run, Yeezy assured the public and said, "Everyone be safe and be patient... we will make more Yeezys. When I was growing up everyone wanted Jordans, kids got killed for Jordans that's why I want to make sure everyone gets Yeezys."
As for his future fashion designs? The musician reveals that he wants to create school uniforms next year.
