The November Man star Pierce Brosnan's Malibu home caught fire on Wednesday night. Fortunately, nobody was hurt in the accident, as revealed by Brosnan's family member.
About 50 firefighters arrived at the scene and were able to contain the damage, which took a little more than 30 minutes to totally extinguish the flames. The fire damaged Brosnan's garage and the contents inside, as well as the room above it. Officials are currently investigating the fire, which they said started at around 9:48 pm. As for what caused the fire and the estimated cost of damage to the 61-year old's multimillion-dollar home, Miguel Ornelas, Los Angeles County Fire Department dispatch supervisor, revealed on Thursday that the details may be announced later in the day. However, in a report by the Los Angeles Times, sheriff officials revealed that the cost of damage is estimated to be US$1 million.
The former James Bond star was at home during the fire and can be seen talking to the firefighters outside of his home, once they got everything under control.
According to the online real estate website, Zillow, Brosnan's Broad Beach home, which is 13,000 square feet and 120 feet of beachfront, is worth about US$18 million. It resides on a street in which average property values do not go less than US$10 million.
Broad Beach is well known to be home to the rich and famous including Steven Spielberg, Dustin Hoffman and Goldie Hawn.
