Actor Emile Hirsch Charged with Felony After Choking a Woman

Actor Emile Hirsch is facing felony assault charging after it was revealed that he placed a woman in a chokehold.

If found guilty, the 29-year-old actor could spend jail time after physically lashing out at female Hollywood executive Daniele Bernfeld while the two were at a party at the Tao nightclub in Park City, Utah. That was one of the many events during the Sundance Film Festival last month.

Reports by TMZ can reveal that Hirsch was drunk before he confronted Daniele and asked her "why she looked so tough." He also told Daniele that she "was a rich kid who should not be at Sundance."

According to the Paramount executive, she walked away from Hirsch after the confrontation but the actor came up behind her minutes afterwards, choking her before pulling her across the table and sitting on top of her.

According to Daniele, "the front and back of her throat were [already] touching" until she came close to blacking out. Two onlookers eventually pulled the Lone Survivor star away from her.

Emile admitted he was already intoxicated at that time after taking three to four bottles of alcoholic drink.

If found guilty of third degree felony aggravated assault, Emile might end up in prison for five years for his conduct.

Other than that, Emile is also facing charges of misdemeanor and intoxication. He is scheduled to appear in court on March 16, 2015.

The actor's reps have not yet commented on the issue.
