Lawyer Claims Emile Hirsch Has No Memory of Choking Hollywood Executive

Actor Emile Hirsch is facing a real possibility of jail time after choking a Hollywood Executive, however, his lawyer has spoken up and said that the actor does not have any memory of what happened that night because he got so drunk.

After news of the incident broke out, the actor voluntarily went into rehab to get treatment.

In a statement released by his entertainment lawyer Robert Offer, he said that the things he is certain of is that the actor consumed a huge amount of alcohol and does not recall any of the events that happened. However, he adds that Emile is taking the matter very seriously.

The 29-year old actor was slapped with a charge of felony aggravated assault after allegedly choking Daniele Bernfeld, an executive at Insurge Pictures, and dragging her across a table in a nightclub. The incident reportedly happened in late January during the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah.

After the incident, Emile has checked himself into a rehab facility to make sure that the incident does not happen again and is fully cooperating with the authorities.

Court documents reveal that the scene happened on January 25 and started when Hirsch, who was drunk, went up to Bernfeld and asked her why she appeared to be "so tough." He also told the executive that she wasn't supposed to be at Sundance because she was a rich kid.

Authorities report that Hirsch first clutched Bernfeld but she pushed him away. He walked away but later on decided to come back. That was when he grabbed the executive from behind and dragged her.

She was said to have been put in a chokehold by Hirsch and dragged across the table.

The executive told investigators that things seemingly went dark and that she might have briefly passed out.

Hirsch is scheduled to appear in court on March 16. Aside from the assault charge, he is also faced with a misdemeanor count of intoxication.

Hirsch will be represented by Los Angeles and Utah attorneys Blair Berk and Neil Kaplan.
