Jaycee Chan, son of movie star Jackie Chan made a public apology and is hoping that the public gives him a second chance. Jaycee has just been released from jail after a six-month stay for marijuana-use.
In a news conference, the 32-year old shared his realizations and said that he is determined to rededicate himself not only to his career but also to his family. He added that there is "no reason" and "no excuse" for his behavior that led to his, Taiwanese actor Ko Kai and other friends' arrest.

Jaycee told the media that his arrest made him change his outlook on his values and on his life.
Both Jaycee and Ko got tested for marijuana and the results were positive. Police also searched his apartment and found more than 100 grams of the drug. Jaycee could have faced a jail-time of three years, but because he came clean with his drug use, he was given a lower sentence.
Jaycee's news conference was broadcasted live on China Central Television or CCTV, China's major television broadcaster, in the hopes of promoting Beijing's anti-drugs efforts. In the first half of 2014, drug investigations have risen to 53% and authorities have investigated more than 1,800 cases.
Jackie Chan and former Taiwanese actress Lin Feng-jiao's son was raised in the United States and has appeared in about 20 HongKong and Mainland Chinese films. His father, widely known in the States for his roles in Rush Hour and Shanghai Knights, has also apologized to the public for his son's drug use and promised to help his son recover.
Jaycee's drug use and arrest were not easy for Jackie, especially because he is a Chinese anti-drugs ambassador, as well as a deputy to the national legislature's main consultative body. Jaycee revealed that his father stood firm on what he is fighting for and said that he did not use his status to make it easier for him. He shared that he did not receive any special treatment inside the prison.
Explaining how he got started with using marijuana, Jaycee said that the first time he encountered the drug was when he went to the Netherlands, but it was only 2 years ago when he started using regularly.
Speaking in a soft voice, he said, "I'm very ashamed that I haven't been a good role model." And adds that he wants to start again, although he knows it's up to the mass media if he will be given that chance. His arrest has put his entertainment career at risk, as Chinese management companies released statements that said they would not employ celebrities who were caught using drugs.
As for his plans for the upcoming Lunar New Year, he revealed that he wants to focus on spending time with his parents.
