Dell is pushing out the second edition of the Chromebook 11 aimed at the education market where most of the Chromebooks are currently being sold.
The second edition of the Chromebook 11 adds new ruggedness to the notebook, along with updated specs to pack a bit more power into the browser based Chrome OS.

"The classroom is changing quickly, and innovative technology is a major way for students to enjoy a collaborative educational experience," said Sam Burd, vice president and GM of Dell Personal Computing Product Group. "Education devices need to be really robust to make it through a school district's life cycle."
Internally, the Chromebook 11 will feature an Intel Celeron processor, not the latest Broadwell expansion but good enough for a $249 Chromebook.
To make sure the Chromebook 11 withstands the classroom environment, Dell has added Corning Gorilla Glass to the display due to the previous model's screen breaking often.
On the exterior, Dell has been kitted out with a robust plastic design capable of withstanding a good amount of pressure. It's another feature by Dell to make sure the lifespan of the Chromebook 11 is longer than its predecessor.
Dell is focused on making the laptop usable from the school or at home, and is offering an LTE option. Some schools give underprivileged students who do not have internet at home the chance to use free LTE.
The Chromebook 11 will start at $249 and is yet another low-end Chromebook looking to appeal in the education market, where Lenovo, Acer, Samsung and HP are all competing for a slice of the cake.
