This saving habit makes Chinese the favourite of various banking organization. In order to attract Chinese depositors, many Spanish banks even published advertising brochure in Chinese, and introduced financial products and bonds to Chinese.
Many people think Chinese preference in saving money may be relevant to China's imperfect social security system. Although the welfare of western society is very good, Chinese people still keep this habit when immigrate to western countries.
Analysts pointed out that Chinese people had a strong sense of crisis, they were always prepared for unexpected eventualities, and they wanted to increase their sense of security in this way, though many of them have influenced a lot by western hedonic value of consumption.
In such a sluggish economic climate globally, this habit helps Chinese successfully weather the financial crisis and bear confidence for the future. In the United States of America, 63% Chinese believe they could live as decent as now, however, only 48% local Americans believe so.
