The second leg of the China International Women's Volleyball Tournament officially started Thursday in Shenzhou, with host China totally outplaying the team from the Dominican Republic.

China's furious blocking, powerful attacks and tough serves are the key components to winning the match with a final score of 25-13, 25-16, 25-12.

Head coach and 1984 Olympic Gold medalist Jenny Lang Ping has taught his girls well as the team, led by outside hitter Chunlei Zeng, made 13 blocks and 7 service aces.

Zeng contributed 15 points including four blocks and a service ace. She is the leading hitter of China and is the only one who made double figures in the match. Ting Zhu, opposite of Zeng, contributed nine points, six blocks and three aces.

This is the second loss of the Dominican Republic to China. Last week, in the first leg of the tournament held in Ningbo, they also lost to the eventual champions in three sets 25-20, 25-16, 25-18.

China went up against Asian champions Thailand in last week's final match and defeated them in three straight sets 25-13, 25-12, 25-11 to win the title 3-0.

"We know that Thailand were playing without some key players, but we were just trying to do our best," said Lang Ping. "I told my players to serve aggressively and pay more attention to their defense and I think they did a good job."

Zhu scored a game-high of 24 points including five aces, Zeng followed with 15 points and Junjing Yang with 9 points.

Thailand came in third with a final win loss record of 1-2. The Dominican Republic came in 2nd with a 2-1 score card while Belgium did not win any matches placing last.

In the other match at Shenzhou, Belgium finally won a match against Thailand 25-20, 25-20, 25-18.
