Chinese Man Kills 7 Family Members Ahead of Lunar New Year

Three days before the Chinese Lunar New Year, a man in north China's Hebie Province murdered seven members of his family, including his wife and children, the police said.
The man, identified as Wu Shouguo, also killed himself head of the Chinese New year, which is an occasion for family reunions in China, authorities said.

The tragic family murder occurred in Xiaonangou Village of Chengde County, said a spokesman with Chengde's public security bureau.
The police said they found seven bodies inside the home of Wu. The bodies include that of Wu, his wife, his wife's parents, two children and two distant relatives.
The police are continuing to investigate the case but initial report showed that the man used a blunt object to kills his family and the parents of his wife.
Afterwards, he took poison to kill himself.
Wu left a suicide note at the crime scene but the police has not revealed the content of the suicide note yet.
Sources, however, said Wu and his wife had been arguing about how to celebrate the Chinese Lunar New Year. The police remained mum on the content of the suicide note, which should reveal Wu's motive in the murder.
Chinese Lunar New Year is considered as an important occasion for family reunions in China. Millions of Chinese workers in major cities travel back to their hometowns to be with their families.
Several Chinese families also travel abroad during the Lunar New Year.
The Ministry of Transport is anticipating an overall holiday-season passenger flow of more than 2.8 billion person-times in this year's Spring Festival travel, a 3.4 percent growth over 2014.
Based on the interactive map released by Baidu.com Beijing and other first-tier cities in China remain the major sources of outflux of passengers in this Spring Festival travel rush but the capital is also one of the top three destinations for the influx of travelers.
