Sichuan Province located in the southwest of China. Chongqing, the capital city, is a key economic center of Western China. Maximum temperature reached 100F degree yesterday in such cities as Nanchong, Guang'an, Dazhou, Yibin, Luzhou in Sichuan Province. Some cities begin setting off the high temperature orange signal warning. Among these cities, temperature has touched the 113F degree mark in Yibin for a several-day stretch.
Currently, China is going through the largest range of high temperature since summer comes. On June 17th, maximum temperature of Huanghuai, Hanyang and Chongqing reached 99F degree.
According to weather experts, hot weather in Sichuan is affected by a subtropical anticyclone. Subtropical anticyclone is a weather phenomenon that causes large-scale circulation of winds around a central region of high atmospheric pressure, clockwise in the Northern Hemisphere, counterclockwise in the Southern Hemisphere.
In the next few days, as the subtropical ridge moves southward, indications show that South China will just get into hot weather as well.
