The final stage is set as top seed Serbian Novak Djokovic and Swiss Roger Federer disposed off their younger opponents in their semi-finals match at the 2014 Wimbledon Championships.

Djokovic had a tough semis match against 23-year-old Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov, who eliminated defending champion Andy Murray in the quarterfinals.

Last year's runner-up Djokovic took the first set in old fashion but Dimitrov bounced back taking the second set.

On the third set, Djokovic was pushed to a tie-break but eventually winning it, thanks to a number of double-faults from Dimitrov.

The fourth set was the turning point as Dimitrov pushes Djokovic to the baselines and another tie-break. It was a seesaw battle as one would not let up until finally Djokovic seals his faith on his finals appearance for the second year in a row with a final score of 6-4 3-6 7(7)-6(2) 7(9)-6(7).

Djokovic has made his 14th Grand Slam appearance and having placed second in seven of the past 13 Grand Slam finals.

"Losing Grand Slam finals, it cannot be satisfying," Djokovic said. "But I know that I can win the title... It's mental in the end of the day. Things have to come together for you to win a Grand Slam. That's why not so many players throughout the history have done that."

Meanwhile, seven-time Wimbledon champion Federer had a routine match against 11th seed Canadian Milos Raonic.

The 2012 Wimbledon champion, Federer, took an hour and 41 minutes to dispose 23-year-old Raonic in straight sets 6-4 6-4 6-4.

This will be Federer's 26th Grand Slam finals appearance with 17 titles and seven 2nd place finishes.

Federer now aims to make history once again as he aims for a record-breaking 18 Grand Slam titles and 8th Wimbledon crown.

"I'm unbelievably proud every time I can walk to the grounds and play this tournament," said Federer. "I know I don't have 10 left. The first one in 2003 was a dream come true. To have another chance to go through these emotions is an unbelievable thrill."

The last and only time these two met in a Grand Slam final was at the U.S. Open in 2007 where Federer won the title in three straight sets. Djokovic has won Wimbledon only once in 2011 against Rafael Nadal and making this his third Wimbledon finals appearance.
