Earlier this week, Apple signed with a Tag Heuer sales director to help with the launch of the iWatch, which it intends to label as "Swiss-made."

In a CNBC interview, Jean-Claude Biver, head of LVMH who owns Swiss-made watch companies Hublot, Tag Heuer and Zenith, said he is supportive of the poached talent and believes that his employment with Apple will be a "great experience."

"If it had been a direct competitor, I would have felt a bit betrayed, but if he goes to Apple I think it is a great experience for him," he said.

There have been reports that the tech giant has been looking to partner with Swiss watch companies and at the same time seeking individuals from the Swiss watch industry that could possibly contribute their expertise to the development of the iWatch.

It has not been an easy feat for Apple.

Biver said the company had tried to pirate from LVMH but had failed to do so.

Swiss watches are synonymous with luxury products, according to senior luxury items analyst Mario Ortelli. He said that Swiss companies would likely be on the losing end if there was a merge with the tech company as it would sacrifice its reputation as a high-end product.

"For sure they are trying to trying to approach the Swiss manufacturers, but the Swiss have no great interest in working with Apple. If you are a luxury producer and you cooperate with Apple, you have got a dilution," he told CNBC.

Further, it was noted that the watch making industry is doubtful of the smart watch's potential.

According to Swatch chief executive Nick Hayes, the smart watch's intended features may be limited by the size of the gadget.

"To make a smart watch work you need two hands or voice recognition, which again needs a lot of power, which is difficult in a very limited space," he said.

In recent months, Apple has been snatching up hires from different industries especially in the health and medical fields.

It was reported that it hired Sano Intelligence blood monitoring expert Nancy Dougherty and fitness tracker developer Atlas Wearables' lead software engineer.

Tech fans anticipate the integration of a fitness and health app in the iWatch.

The iWatch is rumored to be released later this year.
