Hong Kong actress and singer Charlene Choi starred in a lead role in Sara and has since received wonderful reviews for her performance. The EEG or Emperor Entertainment Group movie focuses on Charlene's character, a journalist named Sara, who liberates an underage girl working as a prostitute. She came across the girl in Thailand, while attempting to move on from her own past.

The movie, which also stars Simon Yam contains a handful of intimate sex scenes between Sara and Simon's character and is noted for daring to touch on sensitive issues in Asia, like sex tourism.
Charlene's portrayal of Sara in the movie was well received by critics that at the Macau International Movie Festival, she won the Best Actress Award. On top of that, she is also up for the Best Actress award at various international film festivals including the 10th annual Osaka Asian Film Festival in Japan, 34th Annual Hong Kong Film Awards and at the Far East Film Festival in Italy.
Charlene, who is beyond excited that the film has been recognized internationally, hopes that their movie would shed some light on the prevalence of sex tourism in Asia, as well as generate further awareness to people.
In other related news, some of the posters of the movie were either censored or taken down as per the Hong Kong Motions Pictures Industry association's orders, for apparently being too violent or sensual. One poster showed a nude Sara in blood while while the other poster featured Simon's character and Sara sharing a kiss, with Sara tugging Simon's belt.
