Lorena Rojas, Mexican Soap Opera Star, Dies at Age 44 After Lengthy Battle With Cancer

A statement from Lorena Rojas' group wrote that Rojas "bravely defeated the disease at different stages since being diagnosed in 2008." She nevertheless passed away "in her home, surrounded by the love of her family, her boyfriend and her closest friends," the statement continues.

Rojas was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2008. Last year, the cancer has already metastasized to her liver.
Rojas's popularity spread outside Mexico, thanks to such internationally acclaimed soap operas as, El Cuerpo del Deseo, Rosario, Pecados Ajenos, Alcanzar Una Estrella, and Demente Criminal, her last work.
Rojas also had her stint in the movie world, lending her presence in such motion pictures, like Manos Quieta and Aventurera. She even tried it out in the recording world, with the children's music album titled Hijos del Sol, which according to her was inspired by her daughter Luciana.
Likewise, Latin WE also praised Rojas' legacy. It stated that the seasoned actress took a step further "into eternal life leaving as her greatest legacy the love for animals and for art in all its forms, her tender devotion to her daughter, her passion for life, the appreciation of all her Lobitas and fans who she loved until the end.
