Resplendent in a Carolina Herrera gown, the 33-year old bride was a classic embodiment of wedded bliss when she walked down the aisle.
The couple, who began dating in mid-2010, told People Magazine that they were "overwhelmed with love and happiness" as they made the eternal commitment.
Simpson and Johnson have borne two children together since they got engaged nearly four years ago. Their 2-year-old daughter, Maxwell, and their 1-year-old son, Ace, were both part of the wedding entourage as flower girl and ring bearer, respectively.
Simpson had intimated in a 2010 interview with People that she couldn't ask for a better man than Johnson and would take a chance to make it last forever.
Johnson proposed to her in November that year but it took four years before they could actually marry because of her two pregnancies.
Their wedding plans were back in full swing soon after Simpson, a weight-watch enthusiast, regained her stunning figure. In May, she posted an Instagram photo of herself and Johnson with the caption "I can't wait to marry you."
Simpson was formerly married to Nick Lachey, her co-star in the reality show "Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica." The two split up after three years of marriage.
Massachusetts-born Eric Johnson, 34, was a former NFL player who was drafted by the San Francisco 49ers in 2001,and then went on to join the New Orleans Saints in 2007. He retired from professional football in 2008.
