Anthony Cumia, shock jock of SiriusXM's Opie & Anthony show, was fired late Thursday because of his racial slurs on social media.

Cumia took to Twitter on Tuesday to rant on his frustrations after being punched repeatedly by a "black girl" when she was caught on frame while taking pictures in New York Times Square, according to the New York Post.

The 53-year-old longtime shock jock felt so wronged by the incident that he proceeded to vent even more, using a multitude of graphic language.

In one Tweet, he wrote, "Here's a blurry shot of her taking another swing. See her claw in the lower left? It's bound for my head."

He also noted a double standard when it came to being labeled a racist and claimed that it was the woman who first said a racial remark.

"It's really open season on white people this day and age. No recourse. Fight back and you're a racist. The predators know this. Good luck," another Tweet read.

"The switch to violence is immediate. No discussion, just violence. When will THAT be addressed? Oh, right, never. Slavery did it? Oh, ok," he wrote.

A statement released by SiriusXM on Friday said that the decision was made after "careful consideration of his racially-charged and hate-filled remarks on social media." It added that the posts were "abhorrent" and did not coincide with the values that the satellite radio represented.

Cumia, after being informed of his termination, once again took to Twitter. He wrote, "Sirius decided to cave and fire me. Welcome to bizarre world. Fired for s*** that wasn't even on the air & wasn't illegal."

Meanwhile, the jock still has the support of his fans. Some of them had even mentioned cutting off their SiriusXM subscriptions, NPR.org reported.

Cumia maintains that although his tweets were full of profanity, they were not racial in any way.
