The 2014 Federation of International Volleyball Bureau (FIVB) Mens' Volleyball World League's final six is almost filled up as Italy and Iran leads their respective pools.

Even though the Americans lost their final match against Serbia, their win-loss record and sets won during the seven-week long event placed them ahead of Russia in Pool B, qualifying them for the final six as well as Russia.

The Italians went on top of their Pool by just one set ahead of Iran and Brazil, also placing them in the final six to be held at the Nelson Mandela Forum in Florence, Italy.

The last seat for the final six is still up for grabs at Pool C.

The semi-finals of Pool C will take place on Friday between the four teams remaining. Belgium will go up against France and the other half of the semis will be between Australia and the Netherlands.

The winner of Pool C will have a place at Pool H where they will be pitted up against the Italians and the Americans.

In Pool I, Iran, Brazil and Russia will battle it out in a single round-robin slated to start July 16.

The top two teams standing high in their respective Pools will go on to the final four knockout games scheduled to start on July 19 and the winners of the semi-final rounds will play for the crown on July 20.

In last year's World League, the top six countries that battled it out for the crown were Italy, Bulgaria, Argentina, Brazil, Russia and Canada.

In the semi-finals round, Italy went up against Russia and Brazil against Argentina.

The final round was between Russia and Brazil where leading hitter of the Russians, Paylov Nikolay, was unstoppable as he went on to lead his team into victory with 20 spikes, three blocks and four service aces. Final score in favor of the 2013 FIVB World League champions Russia winning the match in three straight sets 25-23, 25-19, 25-19.
