Google Worried Amended U.S. Warrant Could Be Abused

Google has warned the FBI's amended warrant could allow the agency to misuse information abroad, by gaining access to U.S. companies servers in other countries.
The search giant states that while it's okay for the FBI to ruffle through a citizen's internet history and networks on U.S. servers, this should not be used for servers based anywhere outside of the U.S.

FBI Director James Comey claims the new law would allow the U.S. government to track criminals that may have escaped the country, or who lived in another country prior to moving to the U.S.
The Federal Rule of Criminal Procedure 41 does not have any regulations against the search overseas servers, despite not being able to have access to offline personal information on potential criminals overseas with a warrant in the specific country.
Large internet companies have servers in nearly every region to avoid server overload, and Google doesn't want the FBI to be able to check all of its global servers.
It's not alone in this bid to stop the FBI searching global servers, Microsoft, Facebook and Apple all agree with the move to force the FBI to gain a warrant for overseas servers searches.
There are some concerns it's becoming hard to locate a computer, which is why it needs the server details regardless of location. Google, however, has confirmed it will continue to fight against this legislation.
