There’s a new plug-in that enables people to control their aircondtioning unit with just one click from their smartphone.
The "GE + Quirky Aros air conditioner" is an application and Wi-Fi connected window unit that incorporates Nest-like features with an 8,000 BTU cooling system.

Now, if you have your own A/C unit, you can get a "ThinkEco smartAC WiFi Kit" that will allow you to use the Aros’ smart capabilities with the existing A/C unit.
The ThinkEco smartAC Wi-Fi Kit is a plug-in module that occupies the space between the air conditioner and the outlet. It connects to the Wi-Fi home network and allows remote access to your home’s A/C system using your mobile phone or device.
Using this mobile app lets users adjust the A/C unit's temperature even if they’re away to save energy. ThinkEco’s on-board sensor will also give users real-time reading of the room temperature.
ThinkEco will let you schedule your A/C from an iOS or Android phone.
What's exciting about ThinkEco is that it helps save money on your electricity bill and gives you an exact amount of total energy your A/C used.
The ThinkEco smartAC kit costs US$140. New York City, Baltimore, or San Antonio are the places where you can be eligible to get the plug-and-play unit for free via company’s Cool Savings program.
