Air China To Increase Number Of Flights Between Beijing And Los Angeles

Air China is set to increase its number of daily non-stop flights between Beijing to Los Angeles.

The airline currently operates at least 2 non-stop flights in both directions everyday.

By June, Air China will increase its non-stop flights in this route to three times per day.

Air China officials led by Air China Limited Vice President for North America Zhihang Chi recently made the announcement at the Tom Bradley International  Terminal (TBIT) in Los Angeles International Airport.

Present during the announcement were Los Angeles Mayor  Eric Garcetti, People's Republic of China Deputy Consul General for Los Angeles Lei Wang, as well as Los Angeles World Airports Deputy Executive Director Samson Mengistu.

Air China executives also said, the airline will use the Tom Bradley International Terminal in Los Angeles International Airport.

Air China Limited is the flag carrier of the People's Republic of China and it is also among the largest airlines in China. 

It maintains its headquaters in Shunyi District in Beijing.

In China alone, it flies to 70 destinations.

Aside from its operations in the Los Angeles, Air China also brings passengers to San Francisco, New York, Houston, Washington and Honolulu.  

It also maintains flights to Europe, Middle East, Asia and Australia.

The Los Angeles Economic Development Corporation estimates that  a single aircraft that flies a daily international round-trip flight from Los Angeles to Beijing generates an annual income of over $600 Million.

It further adds, an airplane that maintains this kind of generates jobs for 3,000 individuals in one single year.

Garcetti says, "that's money that employs people, that's money that helps businesses grow, that's  money that supports vital city services."

For his part, Garcetti promises to make sure the Chinese will see Los Angeles as the gateway to North America.
