Samsung Ties-Up With Trek to Improve Cyclists’ Experience

In lieu to take fitness and cycling to a whole new level, Samsung announced this Wednesday that it is going to partner with Trek bicycles to work towards bettering the cyclists' experience. The company aims to focus on cyclists of all kinds- from the professionals to the casual weekend riders.

Samsung has already started working towards its mission by testing some of its products- Galaxy Note, Gear portfolio, Galaxy S5- on Trek Factory Racing Team, as it trains for world's biggest races such as the Tour de France. As the cyclists ride the bicycles, the company monitors their speed, health stats, and other parameters.

"Fitness and wellness are important parts of people's lives, and Samsung is continuously focused on integrating meaningful features into our smart mobile devices," said Younghee Lee, Samsung's Global Marketing, IT & Mobile Communications executive vice president, in a statement.

"Through our collaboration with Trek, we will be able to better understand the needs of cyclists to enhance their interaction with mobile devices and enable athletes and fans to stay connected and active in their daily lives."

Post the release of the Galaxy Gear smartwatch, Samsung is working hard on the fitness sphere, and is experimenting with myriad of things to provide fitness related services to its customers.

When the company launched Gear 2 and Gear 2 Neo in February, the people went gaga over them. Clearly, people are more concerned about fitness these days, and Samsung is trying its best to come up with such kind of technology which can help people with that.
