For Game of Thrones Season 5, it has been confirmed that certain locations in Spain will serve as the kingdom of Dorne, including the Alcazar of Seville.
According to the staff members of the castle, the structure will be used as a location for the filming of the global hit series which will begin in October. It was not specified as to which fictional setting the Alcazar castle will represent, although there have been speculations that episodes for the Water Gardens will be filmed at this site.

As pointed out by the U.S. Ambassador to Spain and former HBO vice president James Costos, the TV series' producers had been considering locations within the Seville region to be used as the royal home of the late Prince Oberyn Martell, also known as the Red Viper and was played by Pedro Pascal in the last season.
The Martells are recognized in the "A Song of Ice and Fire" books by George R.R. Martin for their power and influence, hence the decision to choose a location widely known for its beauty and magnificence.
Alcazar representatives have also ensured that their collaborative efforts with the Game of Thrones' staff have been doing well. Their previous film-related experiences, including The Kingdom of Heaven and Lawrence of Arabia, are expected to aid in facilitating the filming of the series.
While the royal palace of Alcazar has already become a famous destination on its own, a boost in tourism brought on by the Game of Thrones filming is also expected in Spain, similar to the experiences of Croatia, Iceland, and Northern Ireland where the fantasy series has been filmed for the past four seasons.
Aside from the Alcazar castle, other locations in Spain that will be used mostly for episodes involving the House of Martell is yet to be announced.
