Apple will introduce a new system that automatically unlocks your iPhone once you're in a safe location such as work or home.

The system will automatically lock your iPhone again once you leave a safe location, rendering your iPhone useless if it's stolen or used by others. It removes the need for a passcode.

Apple said an iPhone can modify its settings and configurations based on its detected current location. An iPhone owner can also modify the settings of the new security system.
Considered safe locations for the new system are a user's home, office or workplace and some restricted areas which only require less security. The restricted areas are relatively more secure for iPhones.

An iPhone can figure out its location using a Wi-Fi network and the phone signal of your phone, GPS, and Bluetooth. The new system requires at least two location indicators in verifying a location and in making some changes to the mobile device's security.

Android smartphones have the same feature called Android L. Android L uses familiar data about users to help remove the need for locking. Google calls the feature "personal unlocking."

Android L also determines its location via the GPS location of your home or workplace, which are considered safe areas. A phone will automatically unlock without the user entering the passcode. Bluetooth is also a good way of determining a safe place for your smartphone.

Apple also plans to include more features like device security settings and a Touch ID fingerprint sensor.
