The Sea Horse Fountain of Chatsworth will be temporarily removed from its current location for refurbishments. The Tao Hua Yuan: A Lost Village, a fantasy sculpture created by famous artist Xu Bing, will replace the fountain.
The fountain has been in display at Chatsworth for over three centuries, but its temporary replacement will allow visitors to marvel at a natural rock exhibit comprised of tiny figures made of clay along with exotic flora and minuscule model villages.

The contemporary Chinese art display, comprised of various components, has been inspired by the fable Peach Blossom Spring created by Chinese scholar Tao Qian. It highlights the exploration of a delicate society associated with stability, balance, and oneness with nature.
The sculpture has been intended to incorporate real-life China through ink painting using stones from the country's five regions along with lighting effects that considerably transform the sensory experience at night.
Xu Bing's sculpture is used as a centerpiece for the annual Beyond Limits sculpture exhibition of Sotheby at Chatsworth. This presentation is carried out from Sept. 8 to Oct. 26. This week, the Queen and Duke of Edinburgh are expected to visit Chatsworth and preview the fantasy sculpture.
Chinese tourists have been recorded to spend more as compared to visitors from other nations. As such, selecting and using contemporary Chinese art for a famous show is expected to be a big hit. Chatsworth is popular in China, because of its unique displays have been used in the film Pride and Prejudice starring Keira Knightley as a main location.
