Oral-B has released a new toothbrush equipped with an app that can be connected to your smartphone. 

This latest product is called the Pro 7000 SmartSeries. This electric toothbrush can be connected to an Android or iOS app via Bluetooth.

The toothbrush company claims the app can "monitor and chart your brushing performance like never before." The average person will brush his or her teeth for about two minutes. 

Aware of this, Oral-B designed the app to help pass the time while brushing your teeth. Once connected to your iOS or Android smartphone, the app can also apprise the user with up to date weather and news reports.

This app powered Oral-B electric toothbrush isn't cheap. The $220 sales tag is definitely a hefty amount for a toothbrush. There are definitely quite a number of people willing to give this nifty gadget a try, however.

Basically, the Pro 7000 SmartSeries has the Bluetooth 4.0 version, TechCrunch reported.  Consumers will also get three interchangeable heads, an induction charging stand and a travel case.  The battery has an average life of ten days, assuming you brush your teeth twice a day.

Those who have tried the toothbrush swear that the quality of the cleaning is similar to that of a dentist. Technophiles could want to brush their teeth with the Pro 7000 while the app gives them a detailed report on the status of their dental hygiene.

The Pro 7000 eerily shares the same design with the old Oral-B electric toothbrush, except that its predecessor doesn't have the same connectivity with iOS or Android smartphones.

It's safe to assume the company will continue to upgrade the app whenever possible.
