Apple is launching its newest product in April -- the Apple Watch. The basic model will cost buyers around $350 USD. 

The watch has three models, the most expensive of which is the Gold Edition.

But the price of the Gold Edition has yet to be revealed by Apple. As a result, people are guessing how much the Gold Edition costs. On its site, Grail-watch.com predicted the top of the line watch can reach $10,000.

Apple announced its high-end edition will have case made of 18 karat gold, which they claim is tougher than ordinary gold. The watch will have sapphire crystal glass instead of the standard gorilla glass used on iPhones.

Even if the Apple Gold Edition is at $10,000, it won't be the most expensive watch. A high-end Rolex could easily fetched as high as $60,000.  Other watches aren't technologically savvy as the Apple Watch, however.

A Forbes article conducted an analysis on how much Apple is willing to sell the Gold watch to its customers. Apple's usual profit margin on phones is said to range from 50 to 70 percent.  The profit margin for the high-end watch will probably be higher. Apple's charging more for the gold watch since it's catering to a niche market.

The article cited the tweets of Greg Koenig who did an estimate regarding the production cost of the Apple Gold Watch. He thinks the frame alone will require around 29 grams of gold.  The market value of that gold is around $1,200, although he believes Apple obtained the gold at a lower price.

In his tweet, Koenig said Apple will probably charge an amount less than $10,000 but higher than $5,000. He estimates the Apple Gold Watch Edition will be sold at around $8,000.
